Tired? Low energy? Pushing for the end of the year

It’s been 28 days without coffee. Four times this morning, I’ve had to talk myself out of making a cup of coffee. And now I find myself sipping fresh, spicy ginger tea and wishing it was a coffee. I’m longing for that coffee-ZING of energy to make me feel productive, alive and inspired. I’ve been sick on and off for the past couple of months – it seems my African Immune system is not calibrated for European germs and viruses – and my energy is still low after these illnesses. It’s tricky to have low energy in a world geared toward hyper-productivity and being always “on” 24/7… … And to listen to the chattering of my internal slavedriver who has been so conditioned to push through, no matter what, and so slyly uses guilt and the threat of failure as his whip to keep me slaving. Luckily, I’ve done many processes over the years to unhook from that internal slavedriver. I know how to calm and soothe him so that I can rest. One of my students posted this on my Money Magic group yesterday: |
I share this with you today, in case you are in the “end of the year” PUSHING and feel tired, exhausted or overwhelmed. Here are 5 Quick TIPS I use to ease my tiredness and overwhelm and calm my nervous system right down. They’ll make your last weeks of 2024 easier, more relaxed and joyful.
Here’s your PERMISSION Slip – You have FULL permission to REST! Feeling “exhausted” is a real sign from your body that you need to slow down and take some time out to rest. Can you go to bed a little earlier? Can you rest, slow down, sleep more? (Scroll less?) Can you give yourself a gift of some afternoon naps this weekend? Can you give yourself permission to “take the foot off the gas” and rest a bit?
Breath is the most natural and most effective revitalizer. When you feel overwhelmed, stressed or pressured, take 1 minute to do deep breathing – in and out. (If you want a great rhythm that really works – breathe in for 4, hold for 4, breathe out for 4 and hold for 4. Repeat it a few times). Do it now for 1 minute and notice how you feel. It can be that simple!
Give yourself permission to say NO. Don’t take on more.
Not boisterous, pushing exercise – just a gentle walk or put on your favourite song and dance around your living room. (1 song is all that it takes!) Do something that gets your body moving and releases endorphins but doesn’t require more energy or time than you currently have.
Here’s a Quick – only 9 minutes – Guided Meditation for Relaxation that you can use to de-stress, calm down, and find inner peace. |
Or on your Favourite Podcast Channel Here >> This meditation will help immensely. My voice will guide you through it. There is nothing you need to do but lie back and relax. And if you fall asleep – that’s perfect too! Please be kind and gentle with yourself over the next few weeks. If you are tired, Rest, Rest, Rest! Your exhaustion, stress and overwhelm don’t serve you or anyone else. |
